DESCRIPTION
Day 1: Marrakech – Dades Gorges
We’ll pick you from your riad, and head to the High Atlas Mountains. You’ll be amazed with the gigantic peaks of the Atlas (highest is around 3000 m).You’ll also enjoy the breath-taking views of Berber villages, residing on the side of the mountains. Next is Ouarzazate, or Hollywood of Morocco, a quiet town with fortresses and villages. Lunch will take place in Ouarzazate. Following the road of thousand Kasbahs and discovering Dades valley, with its beautiful “green line” which is composed of fruitful trees, including Roses and nuts which stretches for miles across the anti Atlas. Arriving Dades gorges, then overnight in the hotel.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast, we’ll head to the neighboring Todgha gorges, much huge and cooler than Dades’. You’ll get to walk a little downside the gorges, before having lunch in a restaurant. Continue our road by passing through a number of towns: Tinejdad, Jorf and Erfoud. All these towns belong to Rafilalet region, which is the “home” of Morocco’s dynasties. Arriving Merzouga before sunset. You’ll have a little rest in the desert hotel, and then mount your camels and set off for an adventure during the splendid scenery of sunset. Diner and entertainment in the camp, then sleeping in a traditional tent.
Day 3: Merzouga – Alnif - Nkob - Ouarzazate
You’ll get to wake up at dawn time, to see the magical sunrise, and then mount back your camels towards the hotel. You’ll have shower and breakfast, then leaving the Desert and driving to Rissani, 70 Kms north the desert. You’ll have a break there to explore the traditional souk, which once was a trading point for caravans and villagers. After that, we’ll continue to Ouarzazate, but we’ll drive on an alternative track, passing by Alnif, Nkob, and a number of villages situated by Draa Valley, longest of its kind in Morocco. Arriving in Ouarzazate and check in the hotel.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
After breakfast, we’ll head back to Marrakech, but it is mandatory to stop in a fortress Kasbah, called Ait Benhaddou , a world heritage site by UNESCO, and a set of Hollywood films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Babel and the Physician. You’ll climb around its corridors until you reach the top of it. We continue our trip back to Marrakech via High Atlas Mountains. End of the tour.
