DESCRIPTION
Day 1: Pick up at the airport / port of Tangier.
Day 2: Tanger - Tetuan - ChefChaouen.
We will leave early in Tangier and drive along the mediteranean to enjoy picteresque sea view. We’ll pass by Tetouan, before arriving in the magical « blue » town of Chefchauen . Yo will be amazed by the Medina’s its streets, its craft stalls and bazaars.
In the afternoon, you shouldn’t miss visiting the Uta el-Hammam Square, the Great Octagonal Minaret Mosque, the Kasbah Gardens, the Museum and the Art Gallery. Located steps from each other. The vist includes visiting the Ras El-Maa waterfall, overlooking the nearby natural park and the city. It is recommended also to follow the path to the top of the mountain overlooking the town, so as to capture the sunset and the beautiful panorama.
Day 3: Chefchaouen - Fez
After breakfast, you’ll have free morning to stroll more in the streets of Chefchauen before we depart after lunch to Fes. On our way there, you’ll enjoy splendid views of the fertile hills where weat and corn is cultivated and the olives are picked every season.
Day 4: Guided tour of Fez
You’ll spend your day exploring the highlight features of Fes.a local guide will take you to the ancient sites inside and outside the Medina; the Tanneries, Nejjarine fountain, EL Karaouine mosque Medersa Bouanania. Outside the Medina, you’ll stop by the gate of the Royal palace and explore the Jewish neighborhood. Lunch will be served in a traditional restaurant in the Medina. After that you’ll continue your tour by discovering the still-to-see sites. overnight in the riad.
Day 5: Meknes - Volubilis - Fez
After breakfast, we will head west to Volubilis, the ancient Roman city where the most important archaeological remains of Morocco are preserved. experienced local guide will show you the Roman life of the city. After the visit we will approach Mulay Idrís, one of the most important pilgrimage centers in the country. Then, we continue to Meknes, the most "humble" of the four Imperial Cities of Morocco. Free time to enjoy the city, walk through its medina, its famous basin « Sahrij Swani », and the artisanal souks. In the afternoon, return to the city of Fez and transfer to your riad.
Day 6: Fez - Ifrane - cedar forests - Ziz Valley - Merzouga
This journey is full of explorations all the way to Merzouga. First, you will get to see Ifrane, the labeled Switzerland of Morocco, due its European building style. Then, we’ll cross the cedar forests and stop to see the rare monkeys of Morocco. Later on, we continue on the road till Midelt, where we’ll have lunch. It is a quiet city, famous for the cultivation of Apple fruits. After that, we’ll cross the Atlas Mountains through Talghomt pass, while we enjoy the breath-taking panorama of rivers and streams. Before arriving in the desert, we will pass by Ziz gorges and valley in Tafilalet region. We’ll try to get to Merzouga earlier so that you have a little rest, before you ride the camels for the caravan adventure to the bivouac. You’ll be received warmly by the camp’s staff and have a lovely night amid entertainments. Diner and night in a traditional Nomadic tent.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Hassi Labyad oasis - Merzouga
After breakfast you will start the great tour of the dunes, passing through many villages of the desert, one of them is the village of Khamlia where you will stop to enjoy the music of Gnawa and then continue to visit the nomads of the desert in their tents, where you’ll discover anew sense of life. Later on, we continue our drive to the historical town of Rissani, home of the current Alaouite dynasty which still rules Morocco up to day. You’ll walk around its mysterious Souk while enjoying its seventeenth century Kasbahs. After lunch, we drive back to Merzouga. Diner and night in the hotel.
Day 8: Merzouga – Todgha gorges - Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we leave the desert and drive through several towns across a number of oasis, including Jorf, Tinjdad and Tinghir, but you’ll have a 30 minutes break to hike in the cool and gigantic Todgha gorges. Later on, we continute along Dades valley which contains nut trees, peaches and the unique Damaskina roses. Arriving in Ouarzazate, and check into the hotel. Diner and night in the hotel.
Day 9: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech
After breakfast, you’ll have an optional visit to a cinema studio where dozens of past world movie stars, including the recent Prison Break, Jewel of the Nile and The mummy. Then, we’ll head to Marrakech, but it is mandatory to stop in the fortress Kasbah Ait Benhaddou , a world heritage site by UNESCO, and a set of Hollywood films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Babel and the Physician. You’ll climb around its corridors until you reach the top of it. We continue our trip to Marrakech via High Atlas Mountains.
Day 10: Guided visit to Marrakech
You’ll commence the city tour with most important sites and historical monuments, and then you’ll stroll in its beautiful gardens. You’ll enjoy the Menara garden with its basin, and also Majorelle garden, then you’ll have a close look at Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, Marrakech museum and the Koutoubia Mosque, After lunch, you’ll proceed with your exploration by walking around Djemaa El Fna square, which is the main square of the city, and a platform for artistic and cultural performances, while it turns out to be an open restaurant at night as stalks of roasts and juices. Afterwards, you’ll get into the Souk (traditional market) to see the craftsmen and their showcased productions. Overnight in the riad/hotel.
Day 11: Marrakech - Essaouira
We’ll pick you from your riad in Marrakech, head to the coastal town of Essaouira. We’ll drive along flat and plain terrain, and exploring the Argan trees. Argan oil is a unique of its kind, used for cosmetics and food, and it is found nowhere else in the world, but in Souss area of Morocco. You’ll glance at several cooperatives producing this oil. Arriving in Essaouira, you will have lunch with loval flavor of fresh fish, and then you’ll start exploring the town. You’ll stop by the panoramic view over Mogador, a witness of the Portuguese existence in Morocco. Then, you’ll walk around the harbor, discovering the fisheries and the traditional boats. Another thing to see are the gunners residing by the bastion, where you’ll need to sit by and enjoy the sound of waves.
Day 12: Essaouira - Al Jadida - Casablanca
After breakfast, we will drive north to Casablanca. We’ll drive along the sea side passing by a number of towns that have some historical significance. Among these towns is Safi, famous for its special pottery making. Then we continue to El Jadida, which once was a Portuguese stronghold. After lunch, we continue along the coastal road till Casablanca. Overnight in your hotel.
Day 13: Casablanca – Rabat – Casablanca.
Today, you’ll have a day trip to the current official capital of Morocco « Rabat ». The tour starts by visiting Casablanca highlights including Mohamed V square and the greatest Hassan II Mosque. Moving away from Casablanca to Rabat for a two hour drive, you will have a city tour, which includes visiting the Royal Palace, (Mechouar), Kasbah of Ouadaya, a departure point for pirates seizing European vessels during the seventheenth century. After lunch, you’ll visit Mohamed V Mausoleum, as well as Hassan Tower marking unfinished mosque during the 18th century. Return to Casablanca late afternoon.
Day 14: Casablanca - Assilah - Tanger
After breakfast, we will drive north via high-way to Tangier. Before arrival, we will stop in the splendid coastal town of Assilah ( means Original in Arabic ). You’ll have chance to walk in its medina’s alleyways while enjoying its artwork of painting. Then, you’ll end up at the rooftop of the town providing wonderful panorama of the Medina overlooking the sea. After lunch, we leave Assilah to Tangier. Overnight in your riad.
Day 15: Transfer to the Port/Airport.
Depending on your ferry/flight departure time, we will see you off in the port or airport. End of the tour.
